Understanding The Concept Of Dog Training

Put in simple words, teaching your dog how to behave in a particular situation is known as dog training. If you own a dog, training it should be one of your most important routine tasks. It's all about communicating effectively with your dog. Training strengthens the bond between the dog and the family. For training to be successful, it is very important that your dog enjoys the training, so make training a fun activity and not let your dog take it as a routine chore.

Guarding, hunting, retrieving, searching, and obedience are some of the most common things that dogs are trained on. You need to instill the liking for training in your dog at a very early age. So the process of training should start right at the beginning, when you bring the little puppy into your house. And don't forget that training is a perpetual process. You will find it very difficult to train a dog that has already learned something that you did not want it to learn.

The training must be focused upon educating the dogs about developing his instincts and living with people in his house. It also involves making it unlearn the undesirable things that he may have learned accidentally in the past. You may be surprised but you can bribe your dog so that he gets interested in the training! In training through bribery, the dog is awarded with its favorite food or some toy when he completes a command.

At times, you may become disappointed thinking the training isn't helping your dog. But be positive, it may just take a little longer than you had assumed. The reason is simple! It also takes time for you to learn to train the dog. The most difficult thing in the training as you may know is to communicate with your dog.

While training, you also need to understand the emotional state of your dog. This will give you a direction for your training. Even your dog goes through mood swings and if it is not in the mood to be trained, your efforts will be futile. Further, if you fail to reward your dog for the training, this smart creature will again loose faith and the training will get more difficult for you. Training involves rewarding the dog for a good behavior so that he continues to behave in that manner.

As a matter of fact, most modern trainers use the positive training methods and hence use reward-based training to promote good etiquette in dogs. These trainers avoid using physical punishments to promote good behavior. The goal here is to make the dog do something even on occasions when the trainer has no reward to offer. This happens because the dog's training has taught him that the handler may have a reward even if the dog cannot see it.

You may consider using electronic dog training collars which will not cause any harm to your pet during training. These shock collars are useful in various training exercises like hunting, agility training, retrieving and so on. Although shock collars are not harmful to dogs, you should be able to judge whether they need them or not. Your positive attitude can be very helpful in imparting this seemingly difficult training to your dog.

Understanding Dog Training Behavior Can Help Your Earn Your Dogs Respect

Training a dog to behave correctly has many benefits, for the dogs and their human companions alike. Understanding dog training behavior is critical in order to prevent such negative behaviors as aggression. It is important to deal with dog aggression issues by training dogs to interrelate appropriately with other dogs and especially people.

There are many dog training behavior benefits when it comes to getting a dog to act properly, for not only the dogs but their human friends as well. Some important dog training behavior benefits include preventing such negative behaviors as dog aggression by training dogs to interrelate in an appropriate manner with other dogs and people.

Another type of dog training program is dog training behavior modification, which is based on changing your dog's attitude and responses. It's differs from standard obedience training, which has a stronger focus on specific commands and teaching tricks. Dog training behavior modification is usually used when dogs can not get along with other dogs.

If the dog is having serious issue in dog training behavior you should seek the help of a professional dog trainer who can observe the dog in some of these situations to be able to find the right remedy. In many cases, bad dog behavior will probably improve, although in other cases it may not.

In order to know how to successfully train your dog to be a loyal and eager pet, it is important to know where dogs came from, and how their interaction with each other can affect dog training behavior.

The origins of the domestic dog probably began with the domestication of abandoned wolf puppies the early human took in from the gray wolf several tens of thousands of years ago. Domesticated dogs provided help to early humans and they were used as a guard animal, a source of food and fur, and a work animal. The dogs benefited from the shelter and food provided by the early humans.

This particular connection between dog and man continues today. Dogs today often perform many tasks for their owners, like herding, guarding, hunting, and rescue work or special assistance.

Dogs are pack animals by nature. Every dog pack has a leader, known as the alpha dog, who dominates and leads the other members of the pack, and who makes decisions for the entire pack. Many dog packs will have an alpha male and an alpha female as well. The other members of the pack serve to form a hierarchy of dominance and submission where every dog soon learns his place in the ranking. The only time the hierarchy changes after it is established is when the alpha dog dies.

In your home, you and your family become your part of your dog's pack, as this would apply to any other dogs you may have. It is because of these natural characteristics of dogs that it is important for you establish yourself in the alpha position of pack leader for your dog when you start your dog training.

There are many reasons to train a dog properly. Good dog training behavior dictates that as the dogs in the pack submits to a pack leader, a dog that submits to his human pack leader should be able to respect his commands without question. You must be able to earn your dog's respect. This is the first crucial step in producing the correct dog training behavior, and if done right it should lay the necessary groundwork for all succeeding training. It will also provide the building blocks of communication between the two of youdog training behavior

Dog Training - Understanding How Dog Food Influence Behaviour

Whatever you feed your dog, keep in mind that dog food influences his behaviour. You can feed your dog appropriate diet in several ways. However, age; breed and level of activity are the primary determinants of the right diet for your dog. How does behaviour influenced by your dog's diet?

Understanding Domesticated Dogs' Origin

The sense of taste and meal patterning of domestic dogs had been developed from more than 100,000 years of domesticating this Canis Familiaris specie with a rather specialised dentition and taste system that is relatively insensitive to salt. It is generally agreed that dogs are the first species of animal to be domesticated developing from the free-living wolf during the hunting-gathering lifestyle to being man's companion in the early stages of agriculture. Whatever the details of their beginnings, today's dogs are extraordinarily diverse in almost all aspects compared to all the other Canidae and dog food has a significant impact in all aspects of their behaviour.

Dog Food Selection and Feeding Behaviour

Several breeds of dogs have the reputation of consuming large amounts of diet, typical of its genus -- Canis and perhaps a legacy of competitive feeding practices in the wolf. Rapid feeding is a scavenging behaviour adapted in the early days of domestication. When such behaviour is allowed, dogs will rapidly become obese - a condition highly detrimental to your dog's health. Dog food should be given in right amounts at the right intervals.

Dog Food Selection

Food selection for dogs is a complex process and requires certain knowledge and understanding of the dog's breed, age, behaviour and levels of activities. Feral dogs manage to survive through scavenging rather than hunting. For most pet dogs, selection of puppy food and dog food is usually based upon the smell, appearance, flavour and texture. Beagles have very little appetite for sodium. Monovalent cations including sodium encourage dog's taste responses to sugar. It only shows that the right amount of sodium chloride content on dog food is still unclear.

Dog Food and Behaviour Influence

High-carbohydrate diet, given in place of protein, can cause a high level aggression and mood swings in your dog while chemicals and additives can cause hyperactivity and allergy reaction. Though the personality of dogs has evolved through domestication, some of their requirements are still very much alike of their ancestors'. Natural diet such as butcher's scraps, meaty bones and animal carcasses are less taxing to the digestive system, thus, benefiting brain chemistry. Puppy training or dog training is more possible when dogs or puppies have lesser unpredictable behaviours than otherwise. Calcium should also be supplemented because lack thereof causes aggression, lethargy and disinclination to eat.

Commercial dog food or puppy food is quite convenient to feed, but it can get boring to dogs if they have to eat the same diet every day. Boredom causes monotony effect to dogs, a phenomenon where dogs refuse to eat even if they're extremely hungry. If such condition occurs, get help from your vet.

Studies suggest links between these compounds to the behaviour of dogs, but it is still unclear as to how information from the taste buds is integrated in the brain and translated into certain feeding behaviours and dog food preferences.
