Flaunt Your Dogs Obedience With Dog-training!

Dog has been mans best friend since ages and both share a unique bonding. In fact Dogs were bred by early man to help them in hunting and guarding their tribe. For this reason, dogs naturally understand human language and commands just by growing up with them. But just consider this, if your own children can turn naughty and unruly in spite of best parenting and Schooling, then why the poor puppy wouldnt?

Tarpon Springs, Florida has a typical southern easy going lifestyle and they love their sunshine, their lovely beaches, their front garden houses and their Dogs. Dogs complete a typical American family picture and so like in other places across Florida; Tarpon Springs too has a thriving Pet Dog population. As long as you love your dog and you love it back, everything is fine. However, a Dog is after all a Dog. It can be at its best behavior with you and your family. But is your Dog well behaved enough that you can take it out in parks or walk it on the streets in your block and not be troubled by any sudden inappropriate behavior that can harm anybody or embarrass you?

Fact is, you can never be too sure of that if your dog has never been professionally trained at any Tarpon Springs Dog training yard. Just like we humans need our family and teachers to teach us good behavior, so do our dogs. You alone can not train your dog adequately enough as it requires a professional Tarpon Springs dog trainer to truly understand the training requirements and methodology for your pet. No two dogs may require identical training schedules.

Basic obedience program

Most Tarpon Springs Dog training schools basically carry two kinds of dog training programs.

1.Basic Obedience program

2.Advanced obedience program

Basic obedience program is like a Kindergarten for your dog. It starts when your pet puppy is around 8 to 11 weeks old depending upon the breed. Dogs too have a strong psychological sense and Dog Trainers in Tarpon Springs know it well. Dogs and puppies are trained in a very loving, stress-free environment otherwise a dog can pick up a dislike for humans in general and manifest this later in life in the form of aggressive behavior.

Basic obedience Commands

Sit To assume a sitting position when asked to.

Place To sit besides you facing ahead.

Heel Command to say lets go

Down command Making the dog crouch low on its belly in submission.

Down Stay Remain in a down position till commanded otherwise.

No jumping To not jump upon the owner or anybody else.

No biting To not bite things or humans even playfully.

Potty training

NO command To learn the NO command from owner and stop any action.

Name recognition Learn to recognize own name and respond to it.

Crate command To go to the cage, pet-pad or Dog-house when commanded.

Leash training To not tug on the leash aggressively.

Socialization Learn to behave well in crowd and stay calm amongst strangers.

These are some of the very basic obedience commands that a Tarpon Springs dog-trainer can teach your growing Dog. Some people feel that they can themselves teach their dog such simple commands. They can certainly do so but not always with desired results or the same perfection as a dog trainer may achieve. Wrong training methods can make your dog stubborn, aggressive or stressed out.

Self-training shortcomings

Confusing commands

No gesture training

Stress building

Wrong training techniques

Not trained to understand dog psychology

When an owner trains a Dog, usually it is not just one person training the dog but maybe one or more members join in too. This can confuse a young puppy or dog. If you teach a no command and also call it by other terms like Stop, dont or leave it , then again you will end up making your dog confused and less responsive or obedient. Some owners adopt the carrot and stick approach to train their dog which is also a wrong technique. A dog is not a cat. It should learn obedience without expecting any goodies in return. A well trained dog understands gestures too but when you self-train a dog, you do not normally teach them recognizing gestures. Lastly, a dog trainer is a trained professional and apart from other things also learns about psychology of Dogs which is very important to do right things during a training program. So, it is always better to train your dog at a Dog-training, Tarpon Springs school and let an expert Tarpon Springs Dog-trainer do the job.

Advanced Obedience program

The advance program is given to those dogs that have completed their basic obedience program at a Tarpon Springs Dog-training school. It involves controlling the dog with gestures, without leash and resisting the natural urges which are strongly built-in in a dog.

Without leash obedience ( heal, sit, down stay)

Socializing

Gesture understanding

No food from strangers

Obeying No command

In the advanced obedience program, the Tarpon Springs Dog-trainer particularly teaches the dog to behave well when without leash. The dog is not supposed to show its natural urges like greeting somebody, attacking or approaching a stranger, barking, accepting food offered by strangers, getting excited due to presence of other dogs etc. The dog is taught good socializing behavior so that it can be taken to parks, malls, picnics etc without causing any discomfort to others.

Training schedule and pricing

During the basic and the advanced training at Tarpon Springs dog-training centers, the owner of the dog is advised to remain with the trainer so that while the commands are being taught, the dog learns to take them from the owner too. The average period of basic training program and the advanced training program is two weeks each. Though different dog-training schools may charge differently, but largely the fees hovers around $500 to $700 for each training program. So what? A well mannered and obedient pet Dog is simply priceless!
